What we collect
- Visit counts. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, the page you came from, your country and browser type. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you.
- Link clicks. When you tap a shop's phone number, directions, website or a store link, we count the click against that link. The count holds no information about you.
- Emails you send us. We keep your message and email address so we can reply and act on a correction.
- Email signup. If you sign up for our emails, we keep your address, the date you signed up and the wording you agreed to, as Canada's anti-spam law requires. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
Shop listings hold business information that each shop publishes itself, such as its address, phone number and hours. Shop owners can correct or remove it on the How we verify page.
Other services the site uses
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks. Maps load their tiles from OpenFreeMap, which receives your IP address when a map appears on screen. Links to shops, maps and stores take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Analytics reports are kept in aggregate only. We delete correction emails a year after the issue is closed. Email signup records are kept while you're subscribed and for 3 years after you unsubscribe, to show you consented.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Email hello@rideelectric.caand we'll answer within 30 days. Mackenzie, the site's owner, is responsible for privacy here. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
